The "Cash for Clunkers" program proved beneficial to all, right from car-manufacturers to the recyclers, who crush the old cars.
But, auto dealers are telling the different version of the story, saying they still have not been paid for the majority of Cash for Clunkers deals they have made.
Under the Cash for Clunkers program, car buyers are eligible for discounts of $3,500 to $4,500 per car. Dealers take the amount of the rebate off the sale price and deposit the papers to the govt. to be repaid.
Many dealers complain that they have thousands of dollars worth of rebates submitted with the govt. for repayment, which are still outstanding.
Cory Thomas, sales manager at Larry Miller Automall, said, "It's kind of a concern among dealers and hopefully we can get it accounted for."
According to a car-dealer, the Cash for Clunkers program is not a problem for the purchaser, but it has been proving a paperwork nightmare to the auto-dealers.
Auto-dealers are still expecting long wait.
