According to latest reports from All Things D and Digital Daily, iPhone maker Apple, which has for years programmed its media keynote in September, will hold its annual event for the week of Labor Day - with the keynote scheduled for Wednesday, September 9.

At this year's media-centric event, most probably at a San Francisco location, Apple will essentially discuss its new iPod offerings. Going by the reports, Apple would not be unveiling its much-rumored tablet device at the event.

Saying that Apple intends focusing on the music-only items at the event, John Paczkowski at All Things D said: "Our sources insist it will not involve any discussion whatsoever of the tablet that Apple is reportedly developing." In any case, most of the Apple watchers do not expect the supposed tablet device to be announced or released by Apple before 2010!

It is reported that the striking parts of the show would include - Apple's full-length album download package 'Cocktail'; a new iPod Touch and iPod Nano, both with cameras; a new iTunes, version 9, possibly supporting Blu-ray discs and social media integration.

Though Apple has neither disclosed the venue of the event or who would preside over it, hearsay has it that event will likely be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and co-founder Steve Jobs would be present at the occasion!
