The future of Opel and Vauxhall is still uncertain as General Motors' board did not choose any bidder for the two.

Karin Kirchner, a spokesperson for GM, said, "The G. M. board of directors met today to discuss options for Opel. No decision was taken."

Germany has been pressurizing General Motors to select Magna International, the Canadian car-part manufacturer. German govt. believes that Magna International's expertise could save more of 25,000 Opel jobs in Germany.

Magna International and a Brussels-based financial investor, RHJ International are the forerunners.

Germany has already declared that she would not provide any financial aid if Magna International's bid is not accepted.

Intimate sources informed that the US, Germany and General Motors will pursue discussions on the future of the Adam Opel GmbH next week.
