UK Daily Mail reports that Discovery channel' star of Man vs. Wild - adventure explorer Brit - Bear Grylls suffered an injury, breaking his shoulder after a fall on a 9,000 ft. mountain in Antarctic. Waiting to be airlifted to hospital, explorer Grylls', an SAS man, was in agony as a result of the injury that happened as he prepared to spend Friday night on an ice shelf, an Antartica trip organized by White Desert, a UK-based luxury adventure travel company.
Thirty-six hours after the accident, Grylls remains at base camp due to wind conditions and after being stablised at Cape Town, he will then be flown to UK for full medical treatment. His trip to the Antartica was not for Discovery Channel, but more in the nature of a private expedition, reportedly sponsored and designed by Ethanol Ventures, a bio-fuel firm interested in improving the green credentials of bio-fuels.
During filming and prior to his accident, Grylls had complained about the strong winds in his blog, saying were hampering progress into the high mountains '…The winds race from the South Pole outwards and when they race you really know about it. …the Russian scientists have got wind of everything that we are up to, which has apparently confirmed in their minds, that the Brits are mad: 'nobody takes a jetski to Antartica or tries to rest on a vertical ice edge!'.
Gryllys, during his years in the British army, seriously injured his back in a parachuting accident.

Bear Grylis recent uproar of hotels and luxury
There is nothing wrong living in luxury or using hard earned cash gotten in Grylis tenure in the Special Forces. Of course one must never expect this guy and his crew to spend 365days a year in minimal expenditure in their underwears living in some caves or up a tree!
After the Antartic fall, without a shadow of a doubt, he'll be up again fully recovered because of his support and contributions to a welfare society.
Bear Grylis is a great guy who makes survival in the wild a real discovery of fully improvising what nature has.
