Nokia and Verizon unveil latest offering - Nokia 2605 Mirage

There is a new addition to Verizon’s more basic phone lineup for the holidays – the Nokia 2605 Mirage. This low-end mobile - priced at $49.99 with a two year service agreement and a $50 mail in rebates or $220 when contract-free – is just the perfect phone to gift!

Aimed at fashion-conscious users, the phone draws on the same “seamless” clamshell design as the 3555 and 6555 to make for a smoother grip when open. It also comes with an interesting feature – the snap-on faceplates that let owners change from the stock blue to colors or patterns of their choice.

With a 1.8 inch internal display screen and a 1.2 inch external display screen, the Nokia 2605 equips a VGA resolution camera with video recording capability and dedicated buttons. It integrates the Verizon VZ GPS Navigator and the built-in Chaperone service to curb access.

The sleek phone offers Mobile Web Mail, chat and Mobile IM features. It provides users enhanced web applications to access news, weather and sports etc. The phone also has Bluetooth 2.0 support, with data limited to the older 1X RTT standard.

The Nokia 2605 will be available online from today, and will hit retail stores on January 23, 2009.
