Social networking site Facebook Thursday released its updated mobile application, Version 3.0 for iPhone - which has been enhanced iPhone app new features and a redesigned user interface, akin to the iPhone screen and displaying the key Facebook functions on a 3-by-3 grid.
The updated app, now available at the Apple App Store, allows Mobile Facebook users to make calls or send text messages 'on the go'; and the built-in Web browser makes 'landscape viewing' possible for the users, whereby they can view their links, without having to quit the mobile Safari browser.
In addition, the Facebook 3.0 for iPhone now has support for events, allowing users to see their forthcoming events and RSVP. Along with reading notes from friends and writing to them, the upgraded app provides users with the capability of changing their profile picture. In fact, giving users total control over their Facebook photos, the app enables them to create or delete albums; delete photos and photo tags; with users of the iPhone 3GS having the added advantage of uploading videos on the go!
Among the improvements made to the news feed section, the Facebook 3.0 for iPhone allows users to view the Facebook news feed on their iPhone; and "Like" statues, posts, or photos.
In essence, the updated app is part of Facebook's wider approach towards improving its presence on mobile phones!
