Post SRK detention, Salman cancels US trip
Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan

After Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) was event in the US, Salman Khan has cancelled his upcoming trip to New York to promote his upcoming movie, 'Wanted' apart from participating in the auction of his personal paintings for raising funds for charity.

The cancellation has been the result of SRK's extensive screening at the New York Airport earlier this month, where he was questioned by the immigration officials. Promoters and organizers have clearly stated this to be the prime reason for the cancellation of Salman's trip.

The event was scheduled to be held on September 3 in New York and the promoters were also in the process of holding talks with local organizers for other events in cities like Chicago, Houston and Dallas.

It is also understood that one of Salman's family members who was also to accompany him was given a hard time by the US consulate in Mumbai in approving the visa. Some of his other close associates were treated similarly therefore this also contributed in the cancellation of his trip.

According to informed sources, promoters and organizers of Bollywood are displaying reluctance in organizing events in the the US following the SRK episode at New York Airport.

SRK had alleged that he was detained at the airport and questioned after his name popped up on the computer screen of the immigration counter. He also added that he was subject to screening since his last name was 'Khan'. This charge was denied by the US Customs and Border Patrol.
