With Snow Leopard having officially hit the stores only about a week back, reports are making rounds about the Mac OS X 10.6.1 - supposedly Apple's first update for the new operating system; the beta of which the company has already supplied to some developers on September 1!

Though the reports, from The Boy Genius, leopard. jpg, and ArsTechnica1. jpg, fall short of mentioning a release date for the assumed update, they have reveled that the update would include several minor compatibility, security and stability fixes.

Going by The Boy Genius Report, a document allegedly provided by Apple, mentions that the update will pertain to enabling Snow Leopard's compatibility with a few Sierra Wireless 3G modems and ensuring that printer compatibility drivers appear properly in the add printer browser.

In addition, the other notable problems that the update would fix would include: an issue that might bring about an unexpected stop in the DVD playback; a problem that might make the removal of an item from the Dock difficult; instances of failure of automatic account setup in Mail; a hitch whereby pressing 'cmd-opt-t' in Mail may pop up special characters menu rather than moving a message; and the problem of unresponsiveness of Motion 4.

Furthermore, the information put forth by World of Apple has it that the update, which is a 71.5MB download, has been dubbed Build 10B503.
