New York Giants release wide receiver David Tyree

Wide receiver David Tyree was released by the New York Giants on Saturday in the final cut-down.

29-year-old David Tyree missed last season after injuring his hamstring while returning from off-season knee surgery.

David Tyree is well known for the remarkable catch that helped the team in winning the Super Bowl two seasons back.

Earlier, Tyree said, “My love for this game has not died out yet and I really feel like I still have something great to add on to my career, legacy or whatever word you want to put after that.”

David Tyree caught 54 passes for 650 yards plus 4 touchdowns for the Giants ever since 2003.

First touchdown was scored by Terry for New York against New England in the 4th quarter of the 2008 Super Bowl.
