Asus “Eee Reader” may revolutionize the e-book market

Taiwanese Computer-manufacturer Asus is getting ready to launch a low-cost e-reader in Britain before the end of the year.

Intimate sources have confirmed that Asus was considering a budget and premium model of the Eee-reader.

Though the details are thin about the planned devices, yet the budget model will most probably cost approximately £100.

While the popularity of e-readers is on the rise, their prices are matter of great concern. According to a survey, the sweet price for an e-reader is between $50 and $100.

But in great contrast to that Amazon’s iconic Kindle is available in United States with a price tag of $299, while DX charges $489 for its e-reader.

Sony has been planning to roll out a 5-inch Pocket Edition of e-reader for £179, while its 6-inch Touch Edition will be made available with a price tag of £259.

Hence, Asus’ sub $100 e-reader would make dream come true for many.
