The 2009 International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) trade show in Amsterdam saw Abode Systems introduce its content protection software Abode Flash Access 2.0, which allows creators to control audio-visual content, even subsequent to download, by playing back the protected content securely on a forthcoming edition of Adobe Flash Player software.
Adobe Flash Access 2.0, which will start shipping in 2010 first half, not only offers protection of audiovisual content, but also supports flexible handling rules for businesses - like electronic sell-through, leasing, and video on-demand for streaming or download.
As such, with the help of the new release, media companies can put into effect requisite user constraints, such as restricting the viewing of content within the rental period; and businesses as well as educational institutions can customize safeguards.
In addition to its unveiling of Abode Flash Access 2.0, Abode also announced the public preview of its new collaborative script development software, Abode Story, at the IBC trade show. The software, to be demonstrated by Abode at IBC from September 11-15, can perfunctorily turn script content into metadata, which can be used during the course of digital video workflow.
Talking about the benefits of Adobe Story to broadcasters and media companies, Jim Guerard, VP of Dynamic Media at Adobe, said that "the groundbreaking new tool can radically streamline production workflows, reduce overall costs, and make entertainment more interactive and engaging."
