Google launches ‘Fast Flip’ letting users flipping through news

California-based Internet giant, Google has come up with its 'Fast Flip' online news reader that lets users flip through stories in a much easier way.

Google has joined more than 30 media providers to allow users to quickly browse through news stories from their websites via Fast Flip.

Fast Flip will provide stories from major media providers such as BBC and The Washington Post.

Google compared using its new quick-loading product to flipping through the pages of a magazine or a newspaper.

Marissa Mayer, vice president of search at Google, said, "We have tried to build platforms and tools that build a healthy rich eco-system online that is supportive of content. This is a new way of looking at content."

Now a user can move from one article to other using large arrows at speeds faster than the time it normally takes to load a web page.

US newspapers had been criticizing Google for linking to their articles without payment.

It may be noted here that a few months ago Robert Thomson, Wall Street Journal editor, had said that Google and other search companies were tech tapeworms in the intestines of the internet.

Google claimed that the new feature will attract more readers and bring more ad revenue to publishers.
