The last week unveiling of the new iPod Nanos, by Apple CEO Steve Jobs in San Francisco, clearly revealed that the essentially music-centric devices have become more impressive with the addition of new features that now enable it to show movies, TV shows, and pictures!
In appearance, the new Nanos are basically a 'tiny package', quite like their earlier counterparts; and sport similar designs - 3.6 inches in height; 1.5 inches in width; and less than one-fourth of an inch in thickness.
Available in nine attractive colors, the new iPod Nanos boast of features like bigger display; FM radio; a video camera; voice recorder; low-fi mono speaker and iTunes Tagging to allow users to "tag" some songs for preview, and their subsequent purchase via iTunes.
Another notable feature bundled into the Nanos is a pedometer that not only reveals the calories burnt by a user while trudging along with the music, but also syncs with a PC or Mac to send the workout data to the Nike + iPod website.
The 8GB version of the new Nano is priced at $149; and the 16GB model costs $179. While the former can hold nearly 2000 songs or approximately 8 hours of video; the latter can hold nearly 4000 songs or 16 hours of video. Going by Apple claims, a fully-charged battery of the device provides up to 24 hours of music playback time.
