Within weeks of its release of new iTunes 9, Apple Tuesday updated the version to iTunes 9.0.1, in order to fix a number of issues in the music jukebox application!
Essentially a maintenance release, the 82.95MB update includes "important bug fixes," especially those linked to performance and interface issues; and is available via a Software Update in Snow Leopard, or through the Apple Downloads Web page.
One of the most notable issues that the update includes is Apple's swift turnaround of decision pertaining to the iTunes 9 functionality of the green "maximize" button. While the clicking of the green button now maximizes the window, the update reverses the behavior of the button to its pre-iTunes 9 function of switching to miniature player mode.
The notable problems that the update fixes pertain to unexpected quitting of iTunes; syncing of Podcasts in playlists with iPod or iPhone; and sorting of albums with manifold discs.
Moreover, it resolves issues related to browsing the iTunes Store; performance issue of iTunes' unresponsiveness; and issue with the Zoom button's inability to switch to Mini Player.
Furthermore, along with improving application syncing for iPod touch and iPhone, the iTunes 9.0.1 update addresses the user complaints about difficulty in getting Genius Mixes to show in iTunes 9 - the Genius feature has now been set to automatically show Genius Mixes!
