According to AppleInsider reports, Apple’s notebook lineup may soon have a new addition – a low-cost Macbook that would probably be “the most affordable notebook offerings in the Mac maker's history.”
With the newest, ‘ultrathin’ Hewlett-Packard and Asus laptops typically ranging between $600 and $900, there is no telling beforehand how much Apple’s new notebook would be priced at!
Most of the low-cost laptops available in the market at present use the Intel ultra-low-voltage "ULV" processors like the SU4100 or SU7300. These processors form the very core of the latest crop of laptops that brag an extra-long battery life, some even claiming up to 10 hours.
The AppleInsider report pertaining to a low-cost Apple laptop somewhat comes from the fact that Apple has already started treading the low-cost laptop path - what with its once meteorically-high-priced MacBook Air being now available for less than $1,500 and its 13-inch MacBook Pro range beginning at $1,199!
In fact, a new low-end MacBook, lower than the currently-lowest $999, may fall in the half-way-through range between a laptop and a netbook.
Furthermore, along with the buzz about a new low-prices laptop from Apple, the AppleInsider report also said that Apple would also likely introduce a potential update of its low-end, $999, white polycarbonate Macbook. In addition, by the end of the year, a potential refresh of the iMac all-in-one computer may also get an update!
