After having gone through the forgettable Windows Vista experience and comfortable with the Windows XP for reasons aplenty, most of the Windows users are keeping their minds open about the forthcoming Windows 7, which is scheduled for an October 22 release!
According to a last month online survey of over 8000 people who had XP as their primary OS, 26 percent XP users had they had already used Windows 7 were excited about it - of these 73 percent had a positive opinion about the OS , while 11 percent held a negative opinion. In addition, nearly 56 percent said that they would either instantly or ultimately shift to Windows 7.
Meanwhile, 56 percent of the XP users who had not used Windows 7 said they were positive about the forthcoming OS' expected performance, while 12 percent they were not.
As many as 40 percent of the XP users said that they planned to continue using XP indefinitely, and would not like to upgrade to Windows 7.
Meanwhile, those XP users who wish to upgrade to Windows 7 would need to ensure that the requisite specs are in place. Specifically, the forthcoming OS would need a 1-GHz processor; a DirectX 9-capable graphics card; 1 GB memory and 16 GB free disk space for the 32-bit version; or 2 GB memory and 20 GB free disk space for the 64-bit version.
