Apple leaves US Chamber of Commerce

Silicon Valley technology giant Apple has left the United States Chamber of Commerce over its uncompromising position on greenhouse gases.

According to Apple the United States Chamber of Commerce was too critical of planned steps to slash greenhouse gasses.

Catherine Novelli, Vice President of Apple, said, “Apple supports regulating greenhouse gas emissions, and it is frustrating to find the Chamber at odds with us in this effort.”

Apple is not the only company to leave the Chamber of Commerce.

Apart from Apple, PG&E Corp as well as Nike has also condemned the chamber’s stance. Nike has quitted from the chamber’s board of directors but remained as a member of the group.

Power-company, Exelon Corp. also has plans to leave the group.

It should be noted that the United States Chamber of Commerce has been opposing the current legislative efforts to diminish greenhouse gases.
