HP's announces newest business laptops – ProBook 6445b and ProBook 6545b

With the objective of targeting business people on the go, HP Tuesday announced its most recent update to the ProBook series of notebooks, comprising the ProBook 6445b and 6545b notebook PCs.

While both the new business-class computers have all the standard features that can attract IT managers as well as individual customers; the new Probook models also boast some stand-out features, including a set of tools to enhance productivity.

The ProBook 6445b features a 14-inch (diagonal) screen, while the ProBook 6545b has a 15.6-inch screen. Both the models, with a $799 starting price have a magnesium alloy chassis, a 'spill- resistant' keyboard with a drain, and run Microsoft Windows 7.

Capable of being configured with either an AMD Sempron or AMD Turion II CPU, both the new Probook models have a spinning drive or a 128-GB solid-state-drive; up to 8GB DDR2 memory; ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 graphics card; Expresscard/54 slot; multicard reader; wireless connectivity of 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

In addition, featuring a 2-megapixel webcam, both the models can be configured with either a 6-cell or 9-cell battery.

Furthermore, the right side of the keyboard of both the new ProBook notebooks have HP QuickLook 3 and QuickWeb 1 buttons. While the QuickLook button provides the users the accessibility to their Outlook account at the BIOS level, without having to boot; the QuickWeb button provides a similar accessibility for the Web via Firefox.
