Elpida to post operating profit for July-September quarter
Elpida Memory

Elpida Memory Inc., Japan's PC memory chip-manufacturer, said on Thursday that it expected to report an operating profit of ¥500 million (equivalent to $5.6 million) for the three months ended September.

It should be noted here that last year, Elpida Memory Inc. had posted a loss of ¥24.5 billion for the same quarter.

Nevertheless, Japanese chip-manufacturer also expects to suffer overall net loss of 8 billion Yen for the July to September quarter.

The company said more shipments for dynamic random-access memory chips brought in the improvement.

Company's sales are predicted at ¥96 billion as compared with sales of ¥113.6 billion last year.

In the recent trading, shares in Elpida gained 5 per cent to 1,285 yen.
