At its annual international press conference in London, Acer showcased its forthcoming range of products, comprising its new samrtphone 'Liquid'; a netbook running both Android and Windows in a dual-boot arrangement; the Aspire 5738 laptop and the T230H monitor.
According to the information forwarded by Acer, the 'Liquid' smartphone, boasting a wide VGA (WVGA) screen and a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, will be the first smartphone to be marketed with Google Android's 1.6 version.
Furthermore, the 'Liquid' features a 3.5-inch touch-screen and is HSPA-capable for providing Internet access, geo-tagging, a music and video streaming Spinlets application, as well as integration with Twitter, Facebook, and other services in its address book.
Meanwhile, Acer's dual-boot arrangement netbook, which provides users the option of quick Web access via Android or productivity via Windows, is based on Acer's currently-available Aspire One D250. Among the notable features of the netbook are an Atom N280 processor, 1GB memory and 160GB hard drive.
Commenting on the netbook's dual-boot package, Acer's Senior VP Jim Wong said: "Android is the way for mobile Internet. You can boot in seconds and get the web at your fingertips, but you need Windows for productivity tools, and you get better browsing with Internet Explorer."
Of the other two products unveiled at the conference, the Aspire 5738 laptop features multitouch support, while the T230H monitor boasts multitouch support for Windows 7.
