Uncertainty over the availability of H1N1 vaccines is growing in Canada.
On one hand health officials are saying that H1N1 vaccines, including one prepared for pregnant women will not be available by early November, and on the other, Federal Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq is assuring that the vaccine will be made available in early November.
Speaking on the issue, Leona Aglukkaq said, “We in Canada are on track to get the vaccine out the first week of November and we will continue to work to meet that timeline.”
But, health officials are warning that vaccine for the pregnant women, without the adjuvant, will not be ready before November 7.
Dr. Arlene King, Ontario's CMO of health has been advising pregnant women to get vaccinated at the earliest to contract the virus.
But, some experts are claiming that it is not clear if the pregnant women should get vaccinated against H1N1 virus or not.
It may be noted here that outbreaks in British Columbia and Southwestern Ontario are on the rise.
