A recent statement by Ray Sawall, Acer America's Senior Manager of Product Marketing, revealed that the company will soon introduce an innovative laptop - Acer Aspire 5738DG-6165 - which will feature 3-D display, and software and polarized glasses.
The new notebook, running Microsoft's newest Windows 7 operating system, will help create images in 3-D depth and perception in certain games and movies, without affecting the other features and performance of a standard notebook.
The $780-priced Aspire 5738DG-6165, to hit the markets later this week, weighs 6.16 pounds and features 15.6-inch HD screen, which has been coated with a special 3-D film to help the LCD deliver a 3-D image.
The other features of the notebook include an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor; 320GB disk drive; 4GB memory; ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics chip; webcam and a multi-gesture touchpad.
With a mere mouse click of the new Acer laptop, users will be able to switch from applications, like documents, spreadsheets, and email, to 3-D multimedia viewing - that too sans the requirement of any special graphics card!
About the forthcoming laptop, Sawall said: "This holiday season, we are seeing 3D content become more prevalent in popular films and games. The Aspire notebook enables consumers to enjoy 3D entertainment on a mobile PC that can also replicate a 3D experience from standard 2D content."
