Today, a potential new-media industrialist Michael Eisner is intensifying his Web video studio with the unknown multimillion dollar investment from one of Canada's largest media companies, Rogers Communications.
The contents of the studio named Vuguru, currently held within Mr. Eisner's media investment company "Tornante" would be exclusive to Rogers customers in Canada. Numerous competitors "have gone away" with nod to the effects of slim online advertising budgets on start-up new-media companies. The deal might turn out to be a boost for the company. Mr. Eisner, more than once, said that Vuguru concentrated on "financially responsible" shows.
With a fresh edition of a successful murder mystery series "Prom Queen" and an alteration of the young-adult book series "Pretty Tough" later this year, the company is willing to produce 30 series a year. "The most important thing is volume, honestly" said Mr. Eisner, the former chairman of the Walt Disney Company and the chairman of the company's newly formed board of directors.
Considering the transformed and victorious strategy, a senior vice president at Rogers Digital Media stated that the company needs, "to have products that are going to help us distinguish ourselves in the marketplace with our wireless customers, with our cable customers and with our Web audience."
