Recent figures collected from around the country have confirmed that America's economy is showing strong sign of growth again, leaving UK as the only major world economy still stuck in recession. Currently the biggest economy in the world, US grew by a strong 09.% in the year's third quarter, a figure which puts the yearly growth to 3.5%. This has been the county's most powerful growth in two years.
These figures have posed a major concern for Gordon Brown, as the official figures collected from around Britain show that the economic output of the country fell by as much as 0.4% in the July-September period this year. This has been the longest that the recession has hit Britain since the 1950s.
In contrast to UK, the US has shown tremendous growth after four quarters of shrinking. The growth is being seen as a result of the various Government support schemes to lift the automotive, financial and industrial market sectors.
Shadow Chancellor was quick to remark that while the American figures are promising, "Gordon Brown's claim that we were 'best placed' now lies in tatters. The rest of the world is moving on and we are left behind". How UK will manage this situation and its weak economy remains to be seen.
