UK's automobile giant Vauxhall has launched what is believed to be the cleanest car in history. Named the Corsa Ecoflex, the car prides itself on 98g/km CO2 emissions and a combined fuel consumption which lies at 76.3mpg.
Powered by a 70 kW/95 hp 1.3 CDTI diesel engine and fitted with enhanced torque facilities, the Corsa Ecoflex is expected to go on sale in February 2010. Despite being as environment friendly as it is, the new offering boasts 28% more power than its predecessor, also called the Ecoflex, while bringing down fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emission by 10%. In-spite of all these advantages and up-gradations, the price of the new Ecoflex is as much as the company's standard 90 hp Corsa 1.3 CDTI.
The new car sits 20 mm lower and the aero-optimized wheel trims feature 14 inch steel rims. The new product seems to keep the manufacturer's philosophy of "making cars that are ecologically responsible and are still fun to drive" intact.
Customers looking to buy the car starting next year will be able to order it with various equipment variations. They will have the choice of picking which trim they want as well as their favorite equipment to make up their very own eco-friendly car.
