Survey shows 46% women, 30% men prefer Internet to sex

Survey shows 46% women, 30% men prefer Internet to sex Results of the November Intel Corp. survey show that a large number of people would willingly sacrifice sex or TV for two weeks than risk losing Internet access for the same length of time. If trends are an indication of the times to come, the luxury-turned-utility called Internet could interrupt people’s lives in the bedroom!

The online survey of 2,119 adults found that about 71 percent adults said it is important or very important to have Internet-enabled devices, like laptops, and mobile Internet devices.

Nearly one-half of women, 46 percent, and 30 percent of men would rather give up sex than go without the Internet for two weeks.

A further break-down of the results reveals that, in a two weeks’ period, 49 percent of women between the ages of 18 and 34, and 52 percent between age 35 and 44 prefer the Internet to love-making. In comparison, men have trouble resisting the online world in lower numbers - 39 percent of men between the ages of 18 and 34, and a mere 23 percent of those between 35 and 44 said they would choose Internet over sex.

As regards giving up TV viewing for two weeks instead of giving up access to the Internet for only one week, the survey found 58 percent adults - both male and female - and 61 percent of adult women answering in the affirmative.

Besides sex and watching TV, other things that lose out to Internet are - dining out, shopping for clothes, and gym memberships.
