For the sixth consecutive day, as recorded on Friday, Chinese shares continued to grow strong, thanks to much positive third quarter earnings which are expected to continue well into the future. For the week, the shares saw a total of 5.6% rise.
The Shanghai Composite Index, the benchmark for the Chinese market, recorded an increase of 8.98 points when closing, or 0.3%, to close at 3,164.04. China's slightly smaller Shenzhen Stock Exchange recorded a Composite Index 0.6% increase to close at 1,123.82.
"Because most companies reported better-than-expected earnings for the third quarter, investors are looking forward to a profitable next quarter", said Zhang Fan, an analyst for Debon Securities in Shanghai.
The figures have delighted investors, analysts, the country's authorities as well as the general population as this is another sign of the fact that China is fast recovering from the global recession. Investors are positive that the economic data which is due for release next week will be even better and nudge the market higher.
