'Naughty Nice,' 'Misfit Toys,' and 'Blue Christmas' - these are the titles of the new commercials that Verizon Wireless has unleashed against its rival carrier AT&T, to draw consumers' attention to the disparity between the 3G network coverage between both the carriers.
The three ads, which follow the contentious 'There's a Map for That' commercial that AT&T has filed a case against, also notably feature the coverage maps of Verizon and AT&T. The lawsuit that AT&T has filed against Verizon asserts that the earlier Verizon ad misrepresents AT&T's 3G coverage areas, thereby misleading the consumers about the excess of the AT&T network.
All of the three new Verizon ads also feature Christmas themes along side the coverage areas. Moreover, these commercials clearly segregate the Verizon's criticism of AT&T from the iPhone itself; somewhat substantiating the reports that the so-called hybrid Verizon iPhone may appear on the scene next year. In its ads, Verizon calls the iPhone "a great 3G phone without great 3G coverage!"
The ads essentially underscore Verizon's promotion of its recently-released Motorola Droid - which is reportedly a potential threat for the iPhone - along with putting across the message that the Verizon 3G coverage is notably more extensive than AT&T!
