A recent poll in Britain has revealed that most people don’t realize that a woman can still get pregnant if she has sex standing up.

19 percent people are also unaware of the fact that a woman can get pregnant during her period or even that if a man withdraws before ejaculation, according to the government-commissioned survey.

According to the poll 11 percent believe that having sex in standing position is an effective contraceptive method, but more than 37 percent never discuss contraception with their partners.

Sex and relationship expert Dr. Pam Spurr said, “In spite of our love of talking about sex and relationships, the survey suggests it's our lack of knowledge that is causing confusion.”

More than 27 percent people accepted that they are embarrassed to even ask questions they would really like, while 47 percent never discuss their sex lives with their friends.

The survey said that even if they do talk about sex, 62 percent turn the discussion into a joke. The survey was commissioned by the Department of Health and the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
