Meda AB inks pact with US-based Uluru Inc. for its two products

UluruMeda AB has entered into an agreement with Uluru Inc, a US specialty pharma company, for Amlexanox 5% paste and OraDisc A(TM).

Under the deal, Swedish firm will pay an up-front of about EUR 0.5 million for these rights. Total milestone payments are below EUR 4.8 million.

Amlexanox oral paste, 5%, is indicated for the treatment of aphthous ulcers in people with normal immune systems.

OraDisc A(TM) is a muco-adhesive patch which gradually erodes and releases the active drug amlexanox when applied to the inside of the mouth. Oradisc A is approved for the treatment of aphthous ulcers in adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older with a normal immune system.

Meda AB, a specialty pharma company, markets and sells pharmaceuticals and healthcare products worldwide. The company specializes in marketing and pharmaceutical development in late clinical stage.

Its therapy areas are respiratory, cardiology, pain and inflammation, and dermatology, which are sold in 120 countries worldwide.

According to market experts, the agreement gives Meda exclusive rights to the products in most European countries, including Eastern Europe.
