It has appeared that NVIDIA has decided to set their latest GPU, dubbed NVIDIA GeForce 310 up for grabs, which is the first GPU in the company's 300-series line-up, and takes over the present GeForce 210 as an entry-level chipset for simple users expecting to replace integrated graphics in their machines.
But it should be noted that hopes for the GeForce 310 are not that high. In spite of this, there are some good reasons as to why users should buy the new product. "First being that the 589MHz processor is paired with 512MB of 500MHz DDR2 memory, and there are DisplayPort, DVI and VGA ports with the first two easily converted to HDMI with a simple adapter," said the company.
With the help of an internal input, the users can also inject audio into the HDMI signal.
On the whole it is sufficient for hardware accelerated 1080p High Definition video, together with being used as a CPU offset either with NVIDIA's own CUDA and PhysX systems or more generic alternatives like DirectCompute and OpenCL.
The details related to price and availability are not out as yet.
