A Solid State Drive for computer has been released by Micron Technology, equipped with the fastest available SATA interface, which provides a significant boost to speeds for reading and writing. Introduced on Wednesday, the RealSSD C300 is set with the SATA 6GB per second interface, which is a third generation standard which was released in May.
The previous generation interface offers speeds of 3GB a second.
As per the company's claims, the new SSD is based on "Micron's 34-nanometer multi-level NAND flash memory", and will be available in markets all across in 128GB and 256GB capacities, and form factors will be available in 1.8 and 2.5-inches.
"The C300 SSD not only delivers on all the inherent advantages of SSDs - improved reliability and lower power use - but also leverages a finely tuned architecture and high-speed ONFI 2.1 NAND to provide a whole new level of performance", shared Dean Klein, Vice President of Memory System Development for Micron.
The C300 is expected to be the company's first offering in its range of new SSDs, which will be available over the next year.
