As a part of its ongoing investigation of Intel, the US Federal Trade Commission has reportedly questioned NVIDIA over the recent legal actions that happened between both the companies. It has been reported that the FTC is looking to know the complete details of whether Intel's lawsuit against NVIDIA was a deliberate attempt on the company's part to disrupt NVIDIA's business.
For over 3 years, FTC is looking into Intel's working, particularly its competition with rival chip maker AMD. Also, the company has come under the microscope of some international regulators. In May, EU fined the firm for a whopping $1.45 Billion for "anticompetitive behavior". Intel is currently in the process of appealing the decision.
AMD has shared that the "investigation is wider" than the concerns that it had raised with the commission. NVIDIA has said that it "gotten inquiries from the FTC".
The FTC, however, is deciding to keep mum on the issue, as no comments whatsoever have come in this regard from the organization.
Intel, however, has shared that it is still in talks with FTC. "We continue to work and discuss the investigation with the U. S. FTC", Intel spokesman Chuck Mulloy said.
