In a Monday announcement at a news conference, Internet search giant Google it will soon mark its aggressive move into the real-time search arena - integrating the indexed real-time results with its relevance-ranking technology, which will follow the information gushes from sources like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and the ever-increasing number of blogs.
In complete contrast to Google's fundamental Web presentation, the dynamic new results will be presented in a scrolling view, with new updates pouring in as soon the company's gravitational pull gets hold of them.
Giving a glimpse of the forthcoming changes in Google results, the company showed in a demo video that the forthcoming real-time search results will enable users to check out traffic conditions, get an up-to-date localized weather report, and other information about local happenings.
Commenting on the new results feature, which will make their appearance on the Google searches in a few days, Google Fellow Amit Singhal remarked: "Google Real Time search is Google's relevance technology meeting the real-time web. There is so much information being generated that relevance is the key to any product, and that's where Google comes in."
Noting that real-time search is all about evaluating "author quality," "probability of relevance" and "query hotness," Singhal added that Google's real-time search will feature an organized stream of data filtered of spam and other irrelevant information.
