46 year old John Combs, yesterday shot to death a 57 year old doctor at a rural Southeastern Kentucky medical clinic. It is believed that the "disgruntled patient" shot his doctor over an argument about prescription pills.
As confirmed by the Kentucky State Police Trooper Tony Watts, Combs had been a patient of the slain Dr. Dennis Sandlin earlier in the day and had asked for "narcotics", when the doctor demanded that he take a urine test first, he refused and left, only to later return with a gun to kill the doctor.
"From that point, he got real angry, he just went crazy, and he made a threat he was going to come back and blow up the building", shared Perry County Sheriff's Deputy Sam Mullins, who was the officer who responded when the clinic reported that it was under threat from an enraged patient.
Combs was arrested from his residence in the Redfox community in Knott County.
No confirmations about the type of weapon used and the exact sequence of events have yet been made by the officials.
