Today, Sony introduced its latest firmware update, version 3.15, for the PlayStation3, which has two major new features - a Mini Emulator and the ability to transfer data between the PS3s.
The PSP Mini Emulator to the PS3 will allow playback of Minis from the users' home gaming consoles as well as the handheld portable version of the console. Users, who already own any of the available Minis, can download the latest one for free from the PS store for the PS3.
The second and very interesting feature of data transfer is sure to spur much excitement, as it will allow users to transfer all of the saved data from one console to another very easily. It will come in handy for all users who want to get a new console but are not too keen on losing all the data stored on the older one. All content like games, saved games and videos downloaded from the PS Network can be shifted to a new console and deleted from the old one.
While the 3.10 version update seemed to be limited, the latest offering promises to be overall quite well received and useful.
