Acacia Research unit inks ‘License Pact’ with GPS Insight LLC

California-based Acacia Research Corporation has notified that its arm, Telematics Corporation, has entered into a patent license agreement with GPS Insight, L.L.C.

The Telematics technology generally relates to systems and methods for displaying mobile vehicle information on a map.

In addition, this technology can be used in navigation and fleet management systems that combine wireless communication with GPS tracking and map displays.

This agreement resolves patent litigation that was pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Acacia Research Corporation, through its subsidiaries, acquires, develops, licenses, and enforces patented technologies in the United States.

Shares of the company gained $0.16, or 6%, to settle at $2.84. The total volume of shares traded was 101,255 at the Nasdaq. (Monday)
