A research, which has followed last week's findings that coffee consumption can help fight against the most aggressive form of prostate cancer, has pointed out that regular consumption of coffee or tea, at least 4 cups a day, can drastically cut the risk of people developing type 2 diabetes.
It has been asserted by the study researchers that drinking "four cups of coffee, decaf or tea daily" can pull down a person's risk of contracting type 2 diabetes by about 25%-35%, and to reach at the conclusion, 18 studies which involved almost 500,000 people were reviewed.
As per the study's findings, for each cup of coffee consumed, people reduced their chances of developing diabetes by 7%. The findings have come right after Harvard researchers' December 8 study which stressed that men who consumed 6 or more cups of coffee each day "had a 60 percent lower risk of developing the advanced form of prostate cancer than those who didn't consume any".
The study was led by Rachel Huxley of the University of Sydney in Australia, and has been published in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
