Frustration Over 14 Year Old's Video Game Addiction Leads Mother to Call Cops

Acute frustration over her 14 year old son's addiction to video games and repeated playing until late night, led a Boston mother to call police emergency for help in trying to communicate with him.

49 year old Angela Mejia shared that she has been very concerned about the huge amount of time that her son invests into playing Grand Theft Auto series, a very popular but much graphic and violent game. The mother's frustration hit the roof when she discovered that her son was playing the game at 2.30 am on a Saturday, hours after she had instructed him to go to bed.

"I woke up in the middle of the night and saw the light on in his bedroom. I called (police) because if you don't respect your mother, what are you going to do in your life?", said Ms. Mejia, while elaborating that she and her son got into a heated argument which led to her unplugging his PlayStation and placing a call to 911.

As shared by the mother, the police officers immediately responded and convinced her son to go to bed.

"They (police) were just like, 'Chill out. Go to bed", shared the 14 year old boy.
