A mid-range, feature-packed phone boasting enviable functionality – that’s the new Sony Ericsson ‘Anio’ handset, set to hit the markets soon! The phone apparently is quite a package by itself – what with a sharp touch interface; superlative connectivity; full featured navigation; an excellent camera; and abundant storage!

Speaking in specific terms, the noteworthy features of the Sony ‘Anio’ include – a 3’ 16M-color capacitive touchscreen; Quad-band GSM support; Built-in GPS reciever with A-GPS; test edition of Wisepilot navigation software; and Triband 3G with 7.2Mbps HSDPA , 2Mbps HSUPA.

The phone’s 8-megapixel camera comes with capabilities like LED flash, geotagging, face detection, touch focus, and image stabilization; and boasts VGA video recording at 30 frames per second. In addition, the device also has Wi-Fi with DLNA; FM radio with RDS; Stereo Bluetooth 2.1; and microSD card Slot.

Furthermore, the ‘Anio’ comes along with a rather rare desk stand and a 6-cm, amazing plastic headset. Capable of controlling both music and calls, that too over a wireless medium, the headset also helps perform functions like voice dialing, reject calls and playback controls.

In addition, the new Sony phone also features remote play for PlayStation, thereby enabling the PlayStation 3 fans to use the device in a way akin to the remote play feature on the PlayStation Portable which allows for interaction with anything stored on PS3.
