As confirmed by the giant Japanese electronics manufacturer Panasonic Corporation, the company has managed to develop the most powerful batteries ever, for use in everything right from laptops to electronic automobiles.
As confirmed by the Osaka based maker, the very latest lithium-ion batteries are as much as 20-30% more powerful as compared to all other batteries currently available on the market. Also, these can hike the cruising range of electric vehicles on one charge from 120 miles, to nearly 170 miles.
All major makers of automobiles are now in the process of coming out with electric and plug-in vehicles, making the race to produce better lithium-ion batteries more intense than ever before. The demand for the same, therefore, is expected to grow for use in such automobiles, and not laptops and gadgets alone.
Currently, Panasonic is tied in a joint venture with Toyota Motor Corporation, and is involved in supplying batteries for hybrid cars, including the Prius, and plug-in models, and the company has confirmed that it is in talks with nearly 10 more automobile manufacturers to supply the new battery.
