Commonwealth Edison Co., less formally known as ComEd, has confirmed that power has been restored to homes of more than 90% customers whose electrical supply had been cut off on the back of an usually icy weather.
As per ComEd spokesperson Marie Turrell, as many as 8,400 houses across Northern Illinois continued to remain without power throughout Friday mornings, and most of the residential properties in the Western suburbs are still without electricity.
Also, it has been confirmed that nearly 200 crews are continually working toward restoring the power as quickly as possible for customers.
On Thursday, power supply across the area was cut off as ice, which had accumulated on trees, caused branches to break and fall on power lines.
