Although President Obama and his family have been enjoying a quiet, low profile vacation in Hawaii, the security details made for the First Family of the nation have managed to amaze the residents of the Kailua neighborhood where the President is staying.
Tourism officials, on the other hand, are hoping that when people across the country see the First Family enjoying sand and sun, they would want to follow in the same footsteps.
"The last time he was [here], national news shows were going live every morning. We had our sunny coverage in the middle of CNN's snow coverage", shared Darlene Morikawa of the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau.
Since his term in the office, this is President Obama's first trip to Hawaii, where he grew up. Last Christmas was spent there by him as President-elect.
The State Visitor’s Bureau has already started to entice potential visitors by setting up a "Barack Obama's Hawaii" page which shows images of the President golfing, body surfing and strolling the beach.
"It's hard to anticipate that his visit will bring any kind of boom, but it can't hurt", said Rob Kay, who runs the "Obama's Neighborhood" Web site.
