As per an Apple-tablet-related Monday report on DigiTimes, a site famous for reporting on Apple rumors, Foxconn's subsdiary Innolux would likely be one of the primary suppliers of the 10-inch glass display panels that would be used in the much-rumored Apple tablet device, iSlate.
Interestingly, the report by DigiTimes also added that the delay in the production of the Apple touchscreen tablet has largely resulted from the company's concerns about the strength of the display glass. But, the production of the device has now reportedly moved forward as G-Tech Optoelectronics, also a subsidiary of Foxconn, has agreed to provide a process for strengthening the glass.
The DigiTimes' report further said that Foxconn - the maker of a number of Apple devices, including the popular iPhone and iPod - will most probably be manufacturing the supposed Apple iSlate tablet.
According to the report, the shipping of the finished tablet would likely commence in either March or April next year.
Meanwhile, though Apple has not yet officially announced any particular event at which it intends unveiling the iSlate, a last week report by The Financial Times said that the company has rented the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco in late January, for an announcement about a 'major' product.
