With 2010 almost here, there are many things that would change, and some that would worry, like a report from McAfee which is claiming that the coming year could be the time of "Adobe malware", with all cyber criminals turning their attention towards the company's products.

Generally, it is Microsoft which is the favorite of malware, as it holds a dominant stake of the operating system market, office productivity and also web browser market, so it is but obvious that criminals would develop viruses that would target more people. But the coming year seems to be different.

Attention has now been turned to the likes of Google Chrome and Mac OS X which are going strong and might overtake Microsoft, and amidst this, Adobe, with its Flash and Acrobat Reader, has become the most attractive and inviting target with almost everyone with a PC using one or both of these products.

"Cybercriminals have long picked on Microsoft products due to their popularity. In 2010, we anticipate Adobe software, especially Acrobat Reader and Flash, will take the top spot", explains the McAfee report.

The report, entitled 2010 Threat Predictions, has also urged frequent users of social networking sites to be extra careful with hackers looking to break into accounts.
