Free Broadband Service should be Provided by Hotels to Guests - Politician Demands

John Park, MSP for Mid-Scotland and Fife, has suggested that hotels should be offering free broadband services to the guests staying with them.

In connection to the above, Mr. Park has written to VisitScotland and the British Hospitality Association, stressing that such web services should be available across all hotels as "standard".

The politician is now reportedly much hopeful that both the organizations would support his campaign on the move. It has also been suggested that the provision of such services to guests is included in the measures used to award stars.

Mr. Park has insisted that the provision of free broadband in hotels should be encouraged, while adding, "This is about offering a better service to guests and making Scotland a more welcoming destination for tourists and business travelers".

Earlier during the year, BT's Openzone unit had shared that it has launched Wi-Fi hotspots across various Macdonald Hotels and Resorts, and users can access the internet service by either using their existing deals with BT or purchase vouchers at the sites.
