A 36-year-old British man almost choked on Christmas Day after suffering allergic reaction. The reaction was reportedly caused by spraying deodorant Lynx Fever.

Darren Palmer, a time motorway maintenance worker, after using the new can faced difficulty in breathing, experienced itchy skin and he started coming out in blotches.

Palmer quickly jumped into the bath after taking off his clothes at his home in Darfield, near Barnsley, and tried to scrub off the Lynx Fever spray.

His wife Joanne had to call paramedics as his throat and windpipe began to close with swelling.

Palmer’s airways were opened as paramedics arrived within minutes and he was revived before being rushed to Barnsley District Hospital.

Palmer had faced the problem for the first time. He had used another Lynx deodorant without any problem.

A spokesman for Unilever which makes Lynx said, "Lynx is sorry to hear about this experience with one of our products”
