"Smoky Smell" Leads to Turning Back of Delta Flight
Delta Air Lines

On Saturday morning, a Delta Air Lines flight going from Boston to New York was turned back to Boston's Logan International Airport after the pilot noticed a "smoky odor" which was reportedly being emitted in the cockpit, as has been confirmed by a Delta spokesperson, Carlos Santos.

By the time the airplane got back to Boston's airport, the odor had reportedly gone away.

Eight minutes into the flights, pilot of the Delta Flight 1379 noticed the odor and decided that the best thing to do would be to turn back out of an "abundance of safety".

As confirmed airport spokesperson Matthew Brelis, the flight managed to safely land and return to the gate under its power.

All 34 of the plane's passengers were later re-booked on a New York bound flight.

Investigations are on to uncover the reason of the smell.
