The 40-year-old ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ actor Matthew McConaughey and his 26-year-old partner Camila Alves have been blessed with a daughter - Vida Alves McConaughey. The couple, who started dating in 2006, already has a 17-month-old son Levi.

As per the information forwarded on McConaughey’s website, the 7 lbs., 7 oz baby girl was born on Sunday, January 3, at 12.13 a. m., and both she and her mother are reportedly ‘doing well.’

Both McConaughey and Camila had decided not to find out the sex of the baby beforehand, just as they did last time round when Levi was born, saying that they had their “instincts” about the baby to be born. However, McConaughey had encouraged his fans to keep guessing.

In his web post after the birth of the daughter, McConaughey wrote: “Happy New Year everybody!!! On Sunday, Jan. 3rd at 12:13am, Camila gave birth to a healthy 7lb. 7oz. baby girl named Vida Alves McConaughey... Vida is Portuguese for 'life' and that's what God gave us this morning.”

Matthew, who had said in an earlier post that he was looking forward to a new addition to their family, added: “Camila’s recovering wonderfully and we are both truly honored to welcome this little lady into our family... thanks for all your well wishes and prayers along the way… Matthew and Camila.”
