TCU Wins Tostitos Fiesta Bowl

The latest Bowl Championship Series update, which happened on Monday night, was quite interesting for viewers, both in the stadium and back home. During the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, the first Irrational Champion was crowned.

The match pitted TCU against Boise State, and a lot of BCS critics were very agitated when it was announced that two unbeaten teams, each from a non-BCS conference, would be playing each other instead of some conventional big names.

The BCS fans, on the other hand, had been a little heavy-handed with regards to insisting that teams from "non-BCS leagues aren't worthy of national championship contention".

But the game turned out to be an interesting one, with the sixth-ranked Broncos posting an exciting 17-10 triumph over the Horned Frogs, currently fourth ranked in the series.

"All first half, they were doing things we hadn't seen", said TCU quarterback Andy Dalton, while talking about the Broncos' gaming. Schemes of the team included "moving all-league corner Kyle Wilson to safety" against the opponent's spread formations.

"There was definitely some new blitzes, and some fronts and stunts that we hadn't shown before", said BSU coach Chris Petersen.
